The Five-Minute Realign
Most review systems assume you have a problem with effort. They ask you to sit down, look back, rate yourself, and feel something about it.
If you are the kind of person who moves fast, that is not your problem, and the ritual will not survive three weeks.
Check the heading, not the mileage
Drift does not announce itself. You do not wake up one morning having abandoned your direction. You take a reasonable detour, then another, and six weeks later you are somewhere you did not choose, moving quickly, with a full calendar and a vague unease.
Which means the only thing you actually need to check, regularly, is your heading. Not your output. You already know your output.
Three questions, five minutes, once a week
1. What did I spend most of my energy on this week?
Not what was on the plan. What actually took the most out of you. Answer honestly and quickly.
2. Is that pointing where I said I was going?
Yes or no. Resist the urge to explain. The explanation is where the drift hides.
3. What is one thing I would move next week?
One. Not a restructure. A single adjustment small enough that you will actually make it.
Make it impossible to skip
Attach it to something you already do. The first coffee on a Sunday. The drive home on a Friday. A walk you take anyway. It works best somewhere you are already in motion, because sitting still is the part you will avoid.
And keep the answers somewhere permanent. Not in a planner that gets replaced, and not in your head. Five minutes a week compounds only if you can look back across ten of them and see the pattern.
Why we built something small for this
The Pocket Compass exists for exactly this: Remember, Review, Realign. Small enough to carry, short enough to use in five minutes, and separate from the week so that a bad week cannot take it down with it.
We are building it now, and we will tell you the day it is ready.
Do you know what Traveler Type you are?
Everyone moves through life a little differently. Knowing your Traveler Type helps you see where you really stand, plan in a way that fits how you work, and act on your goals without fighting yourself. It takes about five minutes, and we email you the results.
